Elafonisos features six hiking and three cycling routes, offering the perfect opportunity to discover the island’s natural beauty.
Popular hiking trails include the route from the main village to Vigla and Vardia, which leads to the island’s highest point at 276 meters, with panoramic views of the harbor and surrounding bays.
For a more demanding adventure, the Katonisi – Aglyftis trail spans 3 km and ends at a secluded beach with crystal-clear waters—ideal for hikers seeking something more remote and wild.

Cycling enthusiasts can enjoy the Elafonisos – Panagia route (4 km), a scenic ride with points of interest along the way.
Equally impressive is the Elafonisos – Simos route, which leads to the island’s iconic beaches.
The Simos – Katonisi path (3 km), now accessible via the new ring road, offers a smooth and exciting option for biking.

Visit Cultural Landmarks

Elafonisos also features sites worth discovering. The Church of Agios Spyridon, built on a small rocky islet at the island’s port, is a signature landmark closely tied to the island’s identity and history. A must-see is the submerged city of Pavlopetri, one of the oldest sunken cities in the world, accessible to both divers and snorkelers.
